What You'll Do
- Perform DOT maintenance on road tractors and trailers
- Maintain mobile equipment, cranes, bearings, power transmission, hydraulics/pneumatics, fluid pumping systems and welding principles/rigging
- Ensure daily preventative maintenance is performed on vehicles and mobile equipment, which may include fueling, cleaning, and checking/adding fluids as needed
- Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs when needed
- Services machinery and mechanical equipment by completing repairs on engines, hydraulics systems, mobile and stationary equipment
- Repair engine failures, mechanical and electrical system malfunctions, body repair and replacing parts and components
- Maintains specified records of work performed, details of repairs, and material usage
- Possess proficient skills utilizing hand tools, power tools and precision tools for performing all facets of the repair and maintenance process
- Participates in the CMC Safety Programs and proactively upholds the CMC Safety Culture
- Maintains work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follows safety regulations
- Any other tasks as assigned by supervisor
What You'll Need
- Minimum of 2 years of heavy equipment maintenance mechanic experience
- Experience with basic knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems, engines, mobile equipment, and vehicles (number of years up to location preference)
- Experience with a wide variety of tools related to mechanics/hydraulics
- Experience with hydraulics/pneumatics, wiring, and working on heavy equipment
- Welding, cutting and fabrication preferred
- Proficient in reading and understand technical documents, diagrams, and service manuals
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Possess specific fundamental knowledge of bearings, power transmission equipment, electrical, hydraulics/pneumatics, lubrication, fluid pumping systems, and heat transfer
- Must be able to stand for significant lengths of time in an industrial environment with exposure to all elements of weather
Your Education
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience is required
