Post-Quantum Encryption Consultant

Overview

TEKsystems is seeking a skilled security professional with deep experience in modern cryptography, PKI, and emerging post‑quantum technologies to join a client of ours. This role is ideal for someone who understands complex crypto concepts and can translate them into clear, actionable strategies for technical and non‑technical teams. You’ll work across engineering, architecture, and security groups to modernize our cryptographic landscape and support long-term resilience.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, implementation, and modernization of cryptographic systems and PKI infrastructure
• Support development and execution of Post‑Quantum Cryptography (PQC) adoption strategies
• Assess current crypto usage, identify risk areas, and recommend remediation approaches
• Collaborate with architecture, platform, security, and application teams to drive best practices
• Develop architecture patterns and technical documentation for crypto services
• Provide guidance on TLS, certificates, digital signatures, and secure key management
• Act as a subject-matter expert for crypto-related security issues and initiatives
• Help communicate complex cryptographic concepts to business and engineering stakeholders

Required Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with cryptography, PKI, TLS, and certificate services
• Strong understanding of NIST PQC algorithms, guidelines, and migration strategies
• Experience in crypto modernization or large-scale security transformation
• Experience designing or managing digital signatures, X.509 certs, and key management systems
• Ability to translate complex technical concepts for non‑technical audiences
• Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to influence cross-functional teams

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with enterprise-scale crypto remediation or architecture work
• Knowledge of HSMs, KMS solutions, and secure key lifecycle management
• Cloud experience (AWS, Azure, GCP) with focus on cloud PKI and crypto services
• Security certifications (CISSP, CEH, CCSP, or vendor-specific PKI/HSM certifications)

This is a Contract position based out of Charlotte, NC.

The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $85.00/hr.
