Intern: Data Science (Summer 2026)

What You Will Do

• Support ML/AI pipelines and testing market level data as AI projects grow.
• Contribute to Reserve Optimization project through data exploration, model development, and scenario evaluation.
• Validate, test, and monitor data products used across business functions within specific AI applications.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in Finance, Data, Credit and Risk.
• Assist with documentation, version control, and reproducibility of best practices for analytics.

This position is located in Greensboro, North Carolina.

Who are you?

• Applicant must be currently enrolled in a degree in Informatics, Engineering, Math or related fields and must have completed 30 credit hours or more prior to the start of the internship
• Summer interns may work up to 40 hours per week
• Minimum GPA 2.75/4.0 and in good academic standing.
• Experience working with Python, R, Stata or similar scripting tool
• Knowledge of Oracle and SQL Server databases and scripting
• Knowledge of data gathering, cleaning and transforming techniques
• Knowledge of BI applications (QlikSense, Tableau). Power BI experience a bonus
• Knowledge of cloud computing platforms, experience with MS Azure a bonus
• Demonstrated strong presentation skills
• Prior professional work experience is a plus
• Have experience prioritizing work effectively and multi-tasking in a fast paced environment
• Have proven experience working with attention to detail and in a proactive way
• Have proven interpersonal communication skills
• Fully proficient in reading, writing and speaking English, additional language a plus

For all intern and co-op positions, the hourly range is set at $17.00 - $46.00. The hourly rate for these roles is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, academic classification, and degree seeking area of study.
