GENERAL SUMMARY:

This is a senior-level position responsible for overseeing all aspects of a company's financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, internal controls, technology infrastructure, company hardware and software, network systems, data security, compliance, and ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial data while providing strategic insights to management to maintain the company's financial health.


JOB DUTIES:

  • Developing annual budgets, monitoring spending against budget, and creating financial forecasts to guide business planning.
  • Leading external annual audit.
  • Establishing and maintaining robust internal controls to safeguard assets, prevent fraud, and ensure data accuracy.
  • Interpreting financial data to identify trends, assess performance, and provide insights to inform business decisions.
  • Ensuring adherence to all relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and reporting requirements.
  • Prepares and presents financial statements and related reports including but not limited to balance sheets, income statements, cash-flow reports, budgets, and variance analysis.
  • Oversees the operations of the Accounting Department, which include accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and payroll.
  • Manages all accounting functions including but not limited to accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and purchasing.
  • Monitors receivables to ensure credit risk is mitigated.
  • Oversees accounts payable function including but not limited to compliance with expense reporting, capitalization policy, and purchase order procedures.
  • Oversees training programs and identifies training needs.
  • Assists with company strategic planning.
  • Provides management with monthly reviews of organization's financial status and progress.
  • Managing and mentoring a team of accountants and accounting staff.
  • Ability to perform Accountant I-III and Accounting and IT Manager job responsibilities when needed.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • Master’s degree in accounting or finance is preferred
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license preferred and can be substituted with additional accounting certificates from continuing education.
  • 10+ years of experience in accounting or finance positions.
  • Expert level skills in MS Office and accounting software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
