Summary

The Southern Pines Library is searching for a unique candidate who combines customer services skills with those in office management. This employee will work as part of a team dedicated to serving the residents of Southern Pines, and will be at the forefront of ensuring visitors to the library have a seamless, enriching, and welcoming experience. The right candidate will have experience in customer service, training in being a team leader in user experience, the ability to communicate well with both patrons and coworkers, and will also bring knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures to the position. Beyond helping patrons have a welcoming experience, on a daily basis this person manages records and files, tracks budgets in Excel, prepares purchase orders, works with vendors, and fulfills other organizational tasks.

All full-time positions at the library work one weekend a month and work one evening a week- until 6 or 7pm depending on the season.

High school diploma required; two year or four-year degree preferred. Experience in Customer service required. Experience working with the public and some familiarity with the library required. Previous clerical experience in the use of windows-based software required. Experience with Excel required. Must have a valid driver's license with an excellent driving record.
