Job Responsibilities

Publication & Project Management

• Manage multiple publication projects across multiple writers and authoring teams

• Develop, maintain , and actively manage project plans and timelines

• Monitor deliverables, dependencies, and risks to ensure on-time execution

• Coordinate journal manuscript submissions and revisions

• Manage congress abstract and poster development, submission, and follow-up

• Support page proof review and approval cycles

Client & Stakeholder Coordination

• Serve as a primary point of contact for routine client communications

• Coordinate cross-functional communication between writers, authors, reviewers, vendors, and clients

• Lead project status calls, schedule meetings, and track action items

Systems, Tools & Compliance

• Own Datavision data entry, maintenance, and reporting for assigned projects

• Maintain internal and client-facing trackers and dashboards

• Ensure adherence to client-specific processes, SOPs, and publication standards

• Maintain organized documentation within SharePoint and collaboration platforms

Financial & Vendor Management

• Review, submit , and track invoices for assigned projects

• Monitor project budgets and proactively flag risks or discrepancies

• Coordinate vendor services, including poster printing, shipping, and delivery

Salary Range:

The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high of the Syneos Health range for this position. Actual salary will vary based on various factors such as the candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role.

Summary

The Senior Publication Project Manager is a senior individual-contributor role within the Medical Writing department, responsible for managing the operational execution of scientific publication deliverables across one or more clients. This role partners closely with medical writers, publication leads, authors, and client stakeholders to ensure timely, compliant, and escalation-free delivery of manuscripts, abstracts, posters, and related materials. This position is project management–focused only and does not involve people management or medical writing.
