Travel Nursing Job Details

• Assignment Length: 15 weeks
• Healthcare Setting: Neuroscience Med/Surg Telemetry Unit
• Location: Winston Salem, NC (27103) – North Carolina nursing jobs
• Shift: 12-hour nights (18:45 – 07:15), 3 shifts per week
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1660-$1700
• Patient Ratio: 1:6
• Unit Census: ~50 patients, 55 beds
• Start Date: October 13, 2025
• End Date: January 26, 2026
• Scrubs: Navy
• Orientation: 36 hours
• Scheduling: Preferred scheduling; every other weekend required
• Float Requirement: Required to float to other Med/Surg and Telemetry units, including COVID care units

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active North Carolina or Compact RN license (must be in hand at time of start)
• Minimum 2 years of registered nurse experience, including at least 1 year of direct Med/Surg nursing experience
• At least 2 successful travel nurse contracts completed (no first-time travelers)
• BCLS and NIHSS certifications required; ACLS preferred
• Proficiency in IV start, telemetry, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and neuro Med/Surg care
• Epic charting experience required
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions accepted); COVID-19 vaccine not required

RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with neuroscience diagnoses (stroke, epilepsy, subdural hematomas, brain tumors, etc.)
• Monitor and manage telemetry and neuro patients, including dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Administer medications, blood products, and manage central/peripheral lines
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (IV, PT, RT, pharmacy, social services, rapid response)
• Float to other Med/Surg and Telemetry units as needed
• Maintain accurate documentation using Epic and follow SBAR communication protocols
• Participate in unit orientation and ongoing training, including epilepsy monitoring if assigned
• Work every other weekend and make up missed weekend shifts as required
