Job Title: Animal Technician

Pay Range: $20.00 – $21.31/hour depending on skills and experience level
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM; 1–2 weekends/month rotation required

Job Summary:

Adecco Healthcare & Life Sciences is seeking a dedicated Animal Technician to support daily laboratory animal care activities including animal husbandry, health monitoring, cleaning, and sanitation. This individual will work in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and protocol requirements. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, able to work both independently and as part of a team, and committed to maintaining high standards of animal welfare and facility cleanliness.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine animal husbandry tasks, including feeding, watering, cage cleaning, and enrichment

• Maintain clean animal rooms, isolators, care equipment, and facility spaces per daily sanitation protocols

• Monitor animal health and document observations accurately in accordance with SOPs

• Assist with animal handling and minor manipulations under direction and per protocol

• Operate equipment safely and ensure proper use of supplies; adhere to safety and biosecurity procedures

• Maintain consistent attendance and adhere to work schedules; weekend and holiday work required on a rotating basis

• Promote and ensure compliance with animal welfare guidelines, including IACUC and AAALAC standards

• Perform euthanasia procedures per AVMA guidelines and complete associated documentation

• Help maintain inventory and restock supplies as needed

• Take initiative in completing tasks and preparing for upcoming duties

• Follow all required protocols related to personal protective equipment (PPE), biosecurity, and facility procedures

Qualifications:

• Education: Associate degree preferred

• Experience: Prior experience in laboratory animal care or agricultural settings is highly desirable

Pay Details: $20.00 to $21.30 per hour
