This 13-week outpatient Physical Therapist opportunity is based in Shelby, North Carolina, a friendly and vibrant community known for its welcoming small-town feel and easy access to some of the best parts of the state. Shelby's location provides convenient driving access to larger North Carolina cities, mountain getaways, and other regional attractions, giving you plenty of options for weekend exploring while still enjoying a relaxed day-to-day pace.The position is in a modern outpatient rehabilitation environment focused on orthopedic care, serving a diverse caseload of adult patients. You will work in a well-organized, patient-centered clinic that values collaboration, professionalism, and high-quality care. The team culture supports open communication, respect for each discipline's expertise, and ongoing learning, making it an excellent setting to sharpen your outpatient orthopedic skills.This role is strictly outpatient, with a caseload primarily consisting of orthopedic diagnoses, both surgical and non-surgical. You can expect to treat patients recovering from joint replacements, rotator cuff repairs, ligament reconstructions, spine procedures, and other musculoskeletal injuries, as well as patients with chronic orthopedic conditions. The typical caseload is approximately 12 visits per day, allowing you to deliver attentive, hands-on care while maintaining efficient patient flow and structured documentation.The clinic's hours of operation are Monday through Thursday from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The schedule for this assignment is a full-time 5-day workweek consisting of five 8-hour day shifts, totaling 40 hours per week. There is no on-call requirement, so your evenings and weekends remain predictable and free for rest, exploration, or personal commitments.Your daily responsibilities will include performing comprehensive evaluations, developing individualized plans of care, providing therapeutic exercise and manual therapy interventions, and progressing patients safely toward their functional goals. You will also be responsible for timely and accurate EMR documentation, participation in team discussions regarding patient progress, and regular communication with referring providers as needed. Patient care emphasizes evidence-based practice, strong patient education, and empowering individuals to be active partners in their recovery.The clinic environment is designed to support both patient outcomes and therapist success, with access to modern therapy equipment and treatment spaces suitable for one-on-one care, functional training, and post-surgical rehabilitation.
