PrideStaff is seeking a skilled and reliable Wire Draw Machine Operator for an industrial steel manufacturer in Harrisburg, NC. The ideal Wire Draw Machine Operator is responsible for operating the wire draw machines productively and producing material within specifications. This person is also responsible for changeovers, troubleshooting, and general housekeeping.

Pay: $19/hr.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Operate draw machine efficiently an accurately
• Ability to do quality checks, read a tape measure, and check straightness
• Operate a forklift
• Operate an overhead crane
• Ability to pull, bend, and push wire while setting up machine
• Ability to complete production report at the end of the shift
• Understand, maintain, and perform work according to quality and environmental standards
• Maintain work area in a clean, safe, and orderly condition
• Follow established company rules and regulations and safety precautions
• Work hours assigned including overtime as required

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience operating industrial machinery
• Minimum of 1 year of forklift experience
• Good time management and proven multi-tasking skills
• Ability to be self-sufficient and self-motivated
• Demonstrates initiative, sense of urgency and is self-motivated when addressing work tasks
• Team oriented

Preferred Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED
• Forklift crane experience

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, wet conditions, extreme heat, fumes and airborne particles, toxic and caustic chemicals, and outside weather conditions.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to move throughout the facility including on uneven terrain. Duties also require moving items up to 50lbs.
