About the Position
Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Medical/Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 18 months of Med/Tele RN experience License: RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: 18 months of Med/Tele RN experience BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Description: We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for our Medical/Surgical/Telemetry unit. The role involves providing care for patients in a telemetry setting. Common diagnoses include heart failure, chest pain, and patients requiring fluid resuscitation or blood products. You will be responsible for managing various surgical drains and chest tubes. The typical patient ratio is 1:4-6, with the potential to increase to 1:7-8 during surge times. You will be expected to perform skills such as PIV starts and cardiac rhythm interpretation. Support staff, including CNAs, will assist in providing daily activities and care. RT support is available 24/7, with hospitalists also on-site continuously. Patients are monitored remotely when telemetry is ordered. The EMR system used is Epic, along with Alaris pumps and Omnicell for medication dispensing. You may be required to float to other facilities within the region, as needed. Weekend rotation is every other week, and you will be expected to work 75% of holidays. Requests for time off can be approved up to six days, excluding holidays. The unit culture is professional and team-oriented.
