Job Summary
The Mechanical Assembler is responsible for assembling, testing, and packaging oil and gas control products, including valves, controllers, and chemical injection pumps. This role supports manufacturing operations by following detailed work instructions, quality standards, and safety procedures to produce high-quality products in a fast-paced, climate-controlled manufacturing environment. Entry-level candidates may be considered, with training provided.
Job Description
- Assemble finished products, components, and sub-assemblies for oil and gas control valves, controllers, and chemical injection pumps
- Read and follow work instructions, work orders, production drawings, schematics, and verbal instructions
- Interpret assembly instructions and engineering specifications to build and test products that meet quality standards
- Use hand tools, power tools, presses, assembly equipment, and test equipment safely and effectively
- Set up and operate moderate to semi-complex test equipment, including pneumatic and hydrostatic test stands
- Perform complete product assembly, testing, and packaging
- Disassemble, troubleshoot, and repair returned products as needed
- Inspect materials, components, subassemblies, and heat numbers to ensure compliance with specifications
- Complete required inspection and test documentation, including test reports and nameplate marking
- Participate in Lean and continuous improvement initiatives
- Follow all company quality procedures, safety rules, OSHA requirements, and ethical standards
- Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times and report unsafe conditions immediately
- Maintain regular attendance, punctuality, and a professional, team-oriented attitude
Skills Required
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a fast-paced manufacturing or mechanical assembly environment
- Ability to read, write, and speak English, and follow verbal and written instructions
- Basic computer skills
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to meet safety and quality standards
- Ability to perform basic math using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work efficiently, accurately, and meet production deadlines
- Positive, professional attitude with openness to learning, change, and continuous improvement
- Ability to work under close supervision as an individual contributor
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with mechanical assembly and testing of manufactured products
- Experience reading and interpreting assembly drawings and Bills of Material (BOMs)
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, presses, assembly equipment, and product test equipment
- Experience working independently with minimal supervision while maintaining productivity and quality standards
- Experience with manufacturing line setup, inspection processes, and documentation
Highly Preferred Qualifications:
- Oil and gas industry experience
- Experience assembling and testing oil and gas products such as relief valves, chemical injection pumps, control/dump/check valves, butterfly valves, and liquid level controllers or switches
- Experience in high-mix, high-volume manufacturing environments
Education
- High School Diploma or GED
Additional Requirements
- Sched ule: 5AM to 3:30PM, Monday through Friday; 5AM to 11AM, Saturdays and rare occasion Sunday work may be requested.
- Assembly and on-the-job training provided, including safety, quality, and HR onboarding
- Climate-controlled warehouse environment with standing workstations
- Work may be physically demanding and requires prolonged standing and frequent handling of tools and materials
- Steel-toe, puncture-resistant shoes required; uniforms and additional PPE provided
