Vision Activator
ZABS Place Vision Activator - Job Description
About ZABS Place
ZABS Place is a transformative social enterprise that operates as both a thriving thrift boutique and a workforce development training center. The ZABS Place brand includes a thrift boutique, furniture resale shop, ebay sales department, and donation pickup/delivery services.
At the heart of our mission is the belief that everyone has unique abilities and deserves the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to their community while building independence and self-confidence.
Through our comprehensive system of job sampling, coaching, and real-world opportunity, we create an environment where individuals can discover their strengths, develop new skills, and successfully transition into sustainable interest-based employment or entrepreneurial ventures.
Our unique dual-purpose model combines retail excellence with social impact through our innovative training programs.
We follow the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) to align our vision, goals, and progress towards scalability across our team and departments.
The Role
We are seeking a Vision Activator to implement the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) while serving as the operational backbone of ZABS Place.
This pivotal role will unify our diverse teams from warehouse operations and customer experience to training programs and community engagement. Ensuring seamless collaboration across all departments while maintaining accountability to our dual mission of retail excellence and social impact.
This person will serve as the bridge between our visionary leadership and day-to-day operations, ensuring that our EOS implementation enhances rather than hinders our mission-driven culture.
Our Vision Activator will work alongside our Visionary (Executive Director) to translate big ideas into real world impact, ensuring that every department from Customer Experience to Training, Development, and Operations is aligned, empowered, and thriving.
The ideal candidate is an empathic and gifted communicator who cultivates culture, removes barriers through problem solving and decision making, and empowers others to succeed.
Someone who is dependable and will be the glue that holds our diverse and mission-driven team together, ensuring that ZABS Place continues to grow with purpose and precision.
Key Responsibilities
EOS Implementation & Organizational Alignment
- Lead the comprehensive implementation of the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) across all ZABS Place operations, including retail stores, warehouse, training programs, and administrative functions.
- Ensure EOS processes integrate seamlessly with our mission-driven culture and accommodate the unique needs of our workforce development programs.
- Facilitate regular Level 10 Meetings and Rocks Meetings across departments, maintaining focus on both business objectives and individual growth outcomes.
Team Unification & Communication
- Serve as the primary communication hub between all departments, ensuring alignment between Operations (warehouse, maintenance, pickup/delivery), Customer Experience (sales associates, cashiers, stylists), Training Programs (job coaches, placement coordinators), and Development teams.
- Build authentic relationships with team members at all levels, from volunteers and trainees to managers and coaches, understanding individual motivations and challenges.
- Foster collaboration between diverse teams with varying skill levels and backgrounds, creating an inclusive environment where everyone can contribute meaningfully.
- Develop and maintain communication systems that accommodate different learning styles and abilities within our workforce.
Accountability & Performance Management
- Implement empathetic accountability systems that support both business goals and individual development objectives.
- Monitor performance across all operational areas while maintaining sensitivity to the developmental nature of our training programs.
- Establish metrics that capture both business success and social impact outcomes.
Operational Efficiency & HR Leadership
- Support HR functions including staff development, conflict resolution, and workplace culture enhancement.
- Ensure efficient resource allocation and workflow optimization while maintaining our commitment to providing meaningful work experiences.
Strategic Partnership & Crisis Management
- Partner closely with the Executive Director to translate vision into actionable operational plans
- Serve as a key liaison during funding presentations and stakeholder meetings, articulating how operational excellence supports our mission.
- Lead crisis management efforts, ensuring business continuity while protecting the welfare of all team members, especially those in training programs.
What Your Day Looks Like
Your day will be broken down into in blocks of time that will include the following:
- Meet with the Executive Director to identify tactics on how goals and core values can be consistently communicated and implemented in daily operations at ZABS Place.
- Checking in with the operations director, training director, and customer experience director and listening in on any immediate needs or concerns they have both for the day or the upcoming week. This is in addition to regular accountability check-ins but rather to get the pulse on the day to day challenges and solvable problems that can be addressed. When appropriate, checking in with team members as well to get a feel for the pulse/vibe etc. is very important to make sure you’re not missing anything that needs to be addressed.
- Dedicate a block of time to problem solving. EOS helps us identify the top issues preventing us from reaching our weekly, quarterly, yearly and 5 year goals as a team. Your job is actively seeking out solutions to remove roadblocks and barriers to solve these issues our team is facing. When appropriate work with the Executive director and Director of Development to assist in problem solving.
- Schedule consistent accountability meetings with Department Heads and sometimes with additional team members as well to ensure everyone is on the same page.
- Check in with the marketing director to oversee long term marketing goals being implemented and in collaboration with the customer experience team and training team. This is a DAILY TASK at least until it's on track.

- Ownership Mentality: You take full responsibility and follow through with excellence.

You'll have the opportunity to build and refine systems that not only drive operational excellence but also create pathways to independence and empowerment for individuals with disabilities. This role offers the unique satisfaction of seeing measurable business results alongside transformational personal outcomes for the people we serve.
At ZABS Place, you'll be part of a community that values innovation, compassion, and results where every system you implement and every relationship you build contributes to our vision of a more inclusive and opportunity-rich community.
