Store Director
Store Director
The company is seeking an experienced and driven Store Director to serve as the senior on-site leader for one of our retail locations. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives on ownership—someone who understands that every department, every associate, every customer interaction, and every dollar of revenue and expense ultimately rolls up to them. If you are ready to lead from the floor rather than manage from behind a desk, this is your opportunity to run a business as if it were your own.
Job Summary
As Store Director, you will take full ownership of the store's total operation, including financial performance, team culture, regulatory compliance, and customer experience. You will be the visible, accessible leader who sets the tone for every shift, coaches every associate, and ensures the store consistently delivers on its operational and financial goals. This role requires a leader who is comfortable being deeply involved in day-to-day execution while also driving long-term strategy for the location.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the total operation of the store, taking full accountability for financial performance, staffing, compliance, and customer satisfaction.
- Drive sales and profitability by analyzing key performance indicators, adjusting strategy, and course-correcting in real time.
- Build and develop a high-performing team through active coaching, mentoring, hiring, and performance management across all departments.
- Oversee daily store operations, including scheduling, inventory management, loss prevention, and merchandising standards.
- Ensure full compliance with all company policies, safety standards, and local, state, and federal regulations.
- Cultivate a positive, accountable team culture that promotes associate engagement and retention.
- Resolve escalated customer concerns promptly and effectively, maintaining a strong customer-first approach across the store.
- Collaborate with regional and corporate stakeholders to align store-level execution with broader company goals.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5+ years of progressive retail leadership experience, including direct experience managing a full store operation.
- Demonstrated track record of driving financial performance and meeting or exceeding sales and profitability targets.
- Proven experience leading, developing, and holding accountable a multi-department team.
- Strong working knowledge of retail operations, including inventory control, scheduling, and loss prevention practices.
- Solid understanding of employment law, safety regulations, and compliance requirements relevant to retail operations.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English, both written and verbal, required.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a high-volume retail environment.
- Prior experience opening, transitioning, or turning around an underperforming store location.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Retail Management, or a related field.
- Familiarity with modern retail management software and point-of-sale systems.
Technical Skills
- Retail management and point-of-sale (POS) systems
- Inventory management and merchandising software
- Workforce scheduling and labor management tools
- Financial reporting and P&L analysis
- Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word)
