We are looking for a Business Excellence Professional. This hybrid position will be based in Raleigh NC.
The Business Excellence Professional will lead the efforts to build and implement a structured and strategic approach to process documentation and governance across all functional areas of the business. This individual will drive alignment across segmented areas of the business, with the goal of building a cohesive end-to-end flow that can be maintained and collaboratively supported amongst all groups. The ideal candidate for this role is someone with expertise in building maps to aid in visualization, with strengths in clear communication, organization, and thought leadership towards the future.
You’ll make a difference with:
Strategic roadmap ownership & execution
- Define and execute the framework, strategy, and roadmap for enterprise-wide process documentation and governance, including prioritization of documentation gaps and alignment to a long-term maintenance strategy
- Establish a standardized process documentation approach and recommended tool stack to drive consistency, continuous improvement, standardization, and automation across functional areas
- Create and maintain a centralized documentation repository, leveraging AI-enabled search and reference capabilities while ensuring daily efforts align to the broader enterprise transformation vision
Team collaboration & guidance
- Collaborate with documentation specialists to establish documentation standards, visualization formats, and appropriate use of tools
- Guide prioritization and focus to close documentation gaps at both high-level and functional process levels
- Partner with Business Excellence colleagues to support documentation creation and sustainment throughout program and change management lifecycles
Process governance & standardization
- Own governance of centralized and common processes to minimize unnecessary divergence across business segments
- Establish standards for cross-functional interactions, handoffs, and use of centrally managed platforms such as SAP and Salesforce
- Identify, document, and support opportunities for process standardization and alignment across locations, geographies, and major business initiatives
Cross-functional collaboration & support
- Consult with functional teams to initiate and guide documentation of daily work instructions and process visualizations
- Support structuring of core processes and exceptions to address complex business needs
- Partner with functional process owners to align localized documentation with centralized, end-to-end process flows
You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university
- 5+ years of experience with the following:
- Experience in process documentation, process optimization, project management, change management, and/or technical consulting, including mapping and documenting complex, multi-functional business processes
- Demonstrable ability to partner with experts across functions and translate both technical and non‑technical concepts across engineering, operations, and finance
- Expertise with process documentation and visualization tools such as MS Visio, Viflow, Scribe, and Power BI
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, partnering and communication skills
- Ability to work in ambiguous environments, bring structure and clarity, and identify bottlenecks, duplications, and improvement opportunities
- Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications:
- Background in technical consulting or roles operating in a consulting-style model
- Industrial Engineering or Process Engineering background or experience
- Experience establishing or supporting process governance frameworks or documentation standards
- Exposure to enterprise platforms such as SAP and/or Salesforce (functional understanding preferred; configuration not required)
- Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement certifications (Green Belt, Yellow Belt, etc.)
- Experience finding opportunities for automation, digitization, or AI enablement within business processes
