About the Role:
Advance Concrete is looking for a Fleet & Shop Manager that is responsible for overseeing all company-owned vehicles, equipment, and facilities. This role ensures that fleet and equipment are safe, reliable, cost-effective, and compliant with regulations, while maintaining facilities in a condition that supports efficient operations. The role manages all mechanics and shop personnel and plays a critical role in minimizing asset downtime, controlling maintenance costs, and supporting field operations through proactive planning and coordination.
Key Responsibilities:
Fleet & Equipment Management
- Manage all company vehicles, heavy equipment, and trailers, including scheduling preventative maintenance and repairs.
- Oversee inspections, registrations, DOT compliance, and maintenance records.
- Coordinate equipment availability with operations and project schedules.
- Track fleet utilization, maintenance costs, fuel usage, and replacement cycles.
- Recommend repair vs. replacement based on cost, reliability, and operations needs.
- Manage vendor relationships for parts, service, and equipment repairs.
- Manage and coordinate vehicle and equipment accident repairs with insurance carriers.
Shop Operations
- Supervise daily shop activities and maintenance personnel.
- Establish and enforce shop safety standards, procedures, and best practices.
- Prioritize and assign work orders to minimize equipment downtime.
- Maintain inventory of parts, tools, and supplies.
- Ensure shop cleanliness, organization, and efficiency.
Facilities Management
- Oversee maintenance and upkeep of company facilities, yards, and grounds.
- Coordinate building repairs, utilities, security systems, and general maintenance.
- Manage facility-related vendors and service contracts.
- Ensure facilities meet safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
Budgeting & Reporting
- Develop and manage budgets for fleet, shop, and facility expenses.
- Track costs and identify opportunities for savings and efficiency improvements.
- Prepare reports on fleet condition, downtime, maintenance costs, and capital needs.
- Assist leadership with long-term planning for equipment and facility investments.
Safety & Compliance
- Enforce company safety policies related to fleet, shop, and facilities.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, environmental, and company standards.
- Participate in incident investigations related to equipment or facilities.
- Support safety training related to equipment operation and maintenance.
Ideal Qualifications & Skills:
· 5+ years of experience managing fleet, equipment, shop operations, or facilities (construction or industrial environment preferred).
· Strong knowledge of vehicle and equipment maintenance practices.
· Experience supervising employees and/or contractors.
· Working knowledge of DOT, OSHA, and safety compliance requirements.
· Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
· Proficiency with maintenance tracking systems, spreadsheets, and basic reporting tools.
· Mechanical or technical background.
· Budgeting and cost-control experience.
· CDL or familiarity with CDL requirements.
Other Details:
- Position is full time, salaried and pay will be based on experience level.

- Must be able to pass a drug test and criminal background check.
- Must be able to lift 80 lbs and stand for long periods of time.
