Job Description

The Med-Surg/Telemetry unit is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to provide high-quality care to patients in a mixed acuity setting. The unit manages a patient population with conditions such as COPD, pneumonia, respiratory distress, COVID-19, and more.

Responsibilities

• Perform assessments, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care.
• Manage the care of patients on CPAP/BiPAP, and monitor telemetry.
• Support patients with comorbid conditions requiring higher acuity management.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including RRT, code team, and behavioral health team.
• Adhere to unit protocols for admission and discharge processes.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Med-Surg/Telemetry setting.
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications are required; NIHSS certification is preferred.
• Strong skills in IV therapy, management of dysrhythmias, and care of ventilated patients.
• Experience with Epic charting system is preferred.
