Industrial Electromechanical Maintenance Technician

As an Industrial Electromechanical Maintenance Technician at O'Neal Manufacturing Services (OMS), you’ll own the health of the equipment that powers heavy equipment and construction-industry fabrication. You’ll blend hands-on mechanical work with electrical expertise to keep production safe, steady, and compliant.

- 3rd shift: 11:30 PM – 7:30 AM, Monday–Friday
- Available to work overtime and weekends as needed
- Shift premium: $2.50 per hour
What you’ll tackle
- Champion a safe work environment every shift.
- Repair and perform preventive maintenance on industrial machinery and mechanical equipment.
- Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical/electronic wiring, equipment, machinery, apparatus, and fixtures using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring devices.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot malfunctioning systems, components, and apparatus with test equipment and hand tools.
- Connect wiring to circuit breakers, transformers, and related components.
- Calculate, lay out/draw, balance, and align equipment for optimal operation.
- Execute rigging and alignment tasks; perform safety-related and other miscellaneous maintenance/electrical functions as needed.
- Fabricate or utilize mechanical parts—fittings, valves, etc.—from cold rolled steel, stainless, plate, structural members, and other metals.
- Maintain electrical systems in compliance with country, state, and federal codes.
- Support safety and quality programs by following established rules and processes.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills & Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Hands-on troubleshooting for advanced processing equipment, CNCs, material handling systems, press brakes, lifting devices, and sawing equipment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude; a self-starter who can also follow direction.
- Laser alignment and vibration monitoring knowledge required.
- Predictive/preventive maintenance and pipefitting familiarity.
- Competency with oxyacetylene torch work and welding.
- Safe, proficient use of shop tools (hand and power).
- Physically able to work from ladders, scaffolds, and roofs to install/maintain/repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
- Qualified to safely operate a forklift and high lift.
- Capable of programming Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs).
- Knowledgeable in troubleshooting Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).
- Proficient in testing electrical systems and verifying continuity using ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes.
- Experience with mechanical systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics; welding certification required.
- Ability to speak, write, and understand conversational English.
- High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred).
Work environment & physical requirements
Expect indoor and outdoor conditions with changing temperatures, loud noise, and vibration. You may experience:
- Hazards: proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, work on scaffolds/high places, exposure to high heat and chemicals.
- Atmospheric conditions: fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases, or areas with poor ventilation.
- Oils: air and/or skin contact with oils and cutting fluids.
