South-Tek Systems is currently seeking for a detail-oriented Purchasing Agent to support production and facility purchasing needs at our small but growing manufacturing company. You will be responsible for executing purchase orders based on MRP demand, tracking, and reconciling shipments, maintaining accurate purchasing data and coordinating with suppliers and internal departments.

• Onsite, Monday-Friday

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of purchasing or procurement experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field preferred
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, NetSuite, Epicor, etc.)
• Preferred experience with Kanban or lean manufacturing systems
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Office Suite
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Familiarity with inventory control and supply chain management principles

Responsibilities:

Purchase Order Management:

• Create and issue purchase orders based on MRP system demand
• Confirm purchase orders with suppliers within 2 business days, including promise dates and pricing updates.
• Track open orders and follow up with suppliers on order status; negotiate revised ship dates when necessary
• Communicate with operations and production teams on material delays impacting customer delivery dates

Receiving & Reconciliation:

• Collaborate with the receiving department to match packing slips with purchase orders
• Investigate and resolve issues related to pricing, quantity variances, and invoice blocks
• Prepare and process RMA documentation for returns

Inventory & Data Management:

• Coordinate with planning and warehouse teams to prevent stock-outs and reduce excess inventory
• Maintain up-to-date item and vendor master data (pricing, MOQ, lead times, delivery terms) in the ERP system
• Monitor and replenish facility supplies (office, kitchen, and bathroom items)

Other Responsibilities:

• Update material shortage reports with the latest supplier information
• Process miscellaneous purchase requisitions as needed
• Support cross-functional teams with purchasing-related information and analysis
• Perform other duties assigned.
