Job Details:

• Work 3x12 hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend required with one holiday and one evening shift during holiday period
• No call responsibilities
• Patient ratio 1:6 with possible stretch to 1:7
• Minimum 2 years experience required - no first-time travelers
• BLS required, ACLS preferred
• Orthopedic and trauma experience required
• EPIC charting system experience required
• Specialize in pre-op and post-op orthopedic care
• Care for elective and trauma patients including total hip, knee, and shoulder replacements and repairs
• Work with safe patient handling equipment and orthopedic equipment including CPM, knee immobilizer, and bone foam
• Use of rapid response teams
• Must pass mandatory EKG exam during compliance (2 attempts allowed)
• Zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences
• Subject to float to any campus if needed
• 36-hour orientation period with additional modules averaging 2-4 hours

Facility:

This major healthcare system operates a comprehensive orthopedic unit with 32 beds serving a daily census of 31 patients. The facility specializes in pre-operative and post-operative orthopedic care, handling both elective procedures and trauma cases. The unit provides interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams, ensuring comprehensive patient care with modern orthopedic equipment and safe patient handling technology.
