Heavy Equipment Operator – Loader, Forklift & Railcar Mover (Full-Time, 1st Shift)Location: Carolina Metal Recyclers (CMR) – Garner, NCA proud subsidiary of TT&E Iron & MetalSchedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM | Saturdays, 8:00 AM – 1:00 PMPay: $18–$23/hour (based on experience) Carolina Metal Recyclers (CMR) is hiring a physically active, hands-on Heavy Equipment Operator to work in a fast-paced, outdoor scrap yard environment. If you’re experienced with heavy machinery and thrive in rough, industrial settings—this job is for you. You’ll operate a variety of equipment including front-end loaders, forklifts, skid steers, and a Trackmobile railcar mover, supporting daily loading and material handling operations. Key Responsibilities: * Operate a large front-end loader to load scrap metal into trucks and railcars * Use a forklift and skid steer loader for material movement and yard work * Run a Trackmobile to move and position railcars for loading * Perform daily equipment checks, basic maintenance, and routine greasing/cleaning * Communicate clearly with team members over two-way radio * Work safely and effectively in a rugged, outdoor industrial environment What We’re Looking For: * 5+ years of experience with heavy equipment preferred * Proven ability to operate front-end loaders, forklifts, and skid steers * Railcar mover (Trackmobile) experience is a strong plus—but we can train * Comfortable with physically demanding work and outdoor conditions (heat, cold, dust, noise) * Reliable, safety-minded, and a true team player Compensation & Benefits: * Hourly pay: $18–$23/hour (based on experience) * Full benefits package, including: * 401(k) with company match * Health, dental, vision, and life insurance * Short- & long-term disability coverage * Paid time off, holidays, and birthday pay If you’re looking for a steady, full-time position where you can work hard, stay active, and operate powerful machines in a tough-but-rewarding environment, CMR wants to meet you.
