Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Seeking a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to support K-12 students in a dynamic educational setting. This contract position based in Jacksonville, NC offers a full school year assignment with the opportunity to facilitate effective communication and learning for hearing-impaired students.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide accurate and clear sign language interpretation for classroom instruction, school activities, and meetings.
• Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to ensure accessible communication.
• Adapt communication methods to meet individual student needs.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all professional ethical standards.
• Participate in team meetings and professional development as required.

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) with certification preferred.
• Experience interpreting in K-12 educational environments.
• Strong understanding of Deaf culture and educational support strategies.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
