ICU RN Job Details

• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1530 - $1570
• Assignment Length: 13-week travel nursing contract
• Start Date: Any Monday beginning 8/18/2025
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts (12N), 36 hours per week, every other weekend required
• Unit: Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU)
• Bed Count: 24-bed ICU
• Staffing Ratios: 1:2 or 1:1 RN-to-patient, based on acuity
• Scheduling: Flexible, self-scheduling within a six-week scheduling period
• Location: Greenville, NC – North Carolina healthcare jobs

ICU Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – Compact state RN licenses accepted
• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU nursing experience
• Experience in surgical and tertiary care settings required
• Level I or Level II trauma center experience preferred
• Must reside outside an 80-mile radius of Greenville, North Carolina
• Ability to pass Relias clinical competency exams (2 attempts allowed)

ICU RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality critical care nursing to adult patients in the SICU
• Monitor and manage lumbar drains, ventriculostomy, and intracranial pressure (ICP)
• Assist with bedside procedures: tracheostomies, PEG insertions, exploratory laparotomies, and fasciotomies
• Manage arterial lines, central lines, Swan Ganz catheters, epidurals, and mechanical ventilation
• Care for various surgical drains: chest tubes, wound vacs, Abramson drains, and more
• Administer intravenous drips including pain management, sedation, paralytics, and vasopressors
• Implement temperature management protocols (hypothermia/hyperthermia)
• Provide continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) and extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO)
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes
