DME Orthotic Fitter – Full-Time Position – Raleigh Office

Raleigh Orthopaedic Clinic is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented DME Orthotic Fitter to join our team in a full-time role based at our Raleigh location. This position plays a vital role in supporting both our Durable Medical Equipment (DME) services and Orthotics and Pedorthics department. Working closely with patients, providers, and the DME Supervisor, the DME Orthotic Fitter will ensure accurate fitting, dispensing, and documentation of prescribed devices, while helping maintain smooth operations across multiple clinic sites.

Key Responsibilities:

• Fit and dispense DME and orthotic devices as prescribed by providers
• Provide patient education and support regarding use, care, and fit of DME/orthotic items
• Serve as the primary contact for patient questions, concerns, and troubleshooting
• Collect coinsurance, deductible, and self-pay payments for dispensed items
• Ensure proper documentation is collected to support DME claims submission
• Assist with obtaining prior authorizations from insurance companies or Workers’ Compensation, via portal or phone
• Manage inventory at all clinic locations: check in supplies, file packing slips and purchase orders, adjust PAR levels, restock shelves, reorder supplies, and perform routine audits
• Coordinate with DME Supervisor and Orthotics/Pedorthics teams on department needs
• Travel to other Raleigh Orthopaedic sites as needed

Qualifications:

Preferred:

• College-level coursework in Health Sciences (e.g., Anatomy, Physiology, Kinesiology, Athletic Training) or equivalent experience in a clinical, hospital, physical therapy, or EMT setting

Required:

• Previous experience in a healthcare setting
• Strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills
• General knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy
• Proficiency with computers, iPads, and tablets
• Ability to multitask, maintain attention to detail, and be trainable
• Clear verbal and written communication with patients and staff
• Ability to work collaboratively with co-workers, management, and vendors
• Willingness and ability to travel between clinic sites as required
