Territory Manager
Summary
The Regional Sales Manager / Territory Manager is responsible for managing and growing current accounts while developing new business in an assigned territory. This role focuses on building strong relationships with distributors, increasing sales, and expanding product reach across a wide range of frozen and dry food products. The Territory Manager acts as the main point of contact for customers, providing guidance and achieving sales targets. Full-time role with benefits/ base salary and commission.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and grow existing accounts while pursuing new business opportunities.
- Visit distributors and key customers regularly to build relationships, introduce products, and share market trends.
- Work primarily in the field (3–4 days per week) with one day in the office for planning and administrative tasks.
- Maintain expertise in a large product portfolio (1,500–2,000 SKUs), including product applications and benefits.
- Assist customers with orders, pricing, deliveries, credits, and issue resolution in coordination with inside sales and operations.
- Keep accurate records of customers, pricing, promotions, and account activity in CRM systems.
- Submit regular reports on sales activity, opportunities, and results.
- Attend trade shows, industry events, supplier trainings, and internal meetings as needed.
- Plan territory efficiently, clustering appointments to maximize time with customers.
- Drive consistent growth in revenue and product sales through distributor relationships and end-user demand.
- Maintain strong collaboration with internal teams and external partners.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of sales or account management experience in foodservice, redistribution, or related CPG/food industries.
- Proven success in managing distributor relationships and large product portfolios.
- Track record of growing territories, acquiring new accounts, and increasing sales within existing accounts.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with CRM tools preferred.
- Self-motivated, organized, and proactive with strong follow-through.
- Comfortable working independently in a remote/field-based role.
Requirements
- Valid driver's license and vehicle insurance.
- Willingness to travel extensively within the territory (around 90% travel), including overnight trips.
- Ability to travel to headquarters 2–3 days per month for meetings and training.
- Ability to work in office, remote, and field settings.
- Strong territory management skills, including route planning and efficient call scheduling.
