Senior .Net Developer

Job Location: Remote (Client Site: Nashville, TN)

Note: Candidates with relevant government experience preferred.

Job Description:

The State of Tennessee , in partnership with GSK Solutions , is seeking a Senior .NET Developer for a short-term engagement to support desktop and distributed software development across multiple environments including Windows, Solaris, client-server, and browser-based applications. This role focuses on developing and enhancing software applications, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring optimal performance using .NET and Oracle tools.

Specialty Areas:

• .NET Development – Strong experience with Visual Studio .NET and related frameworks.

• Database Programming – Proficient in Oracle PL/SQL, SQL Server, and query optimization.

• Web Technologies – Experience with JavaScript, HTML, XML, and related scripting languages.

• Software Lifecycle & Testing – Ability to debug, test, and document across SDLC phases.

• Agile Development – Comfortable working in Agile environments.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze and define functional business requirements for desktop and distributed applications.

• Develop design specifications and write efficient, maintainable code in .NET, Java, and PL/SQL.

• Build and maintain database components using Oracle 19c and SQL optimization techniques.

• Test and debug applications to meet operational requirements.

• Prepare detailed technical and user-level documentation.

• Enhance existing applications to reduce operating time and improve system performance.

• Work within Agile frameworks and collaborate with stakeholders for project delivery.

Mandatory Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of experience in .NET development and Oracle PL/SQL.

• Proficiency in developing and maintaining relational databases (Oracle 19c preferred).

• Strong understanding of SQL query writing, optimization, and troubleshooting.

• Experience with Agile methodologies and full software development lifecycle (SDLC).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Java development in distributed environments.

• Familiarity with encryption protocols (SSL) and secure software practices.

• Working knowledge of UML and object-oriented design principles.

• Experience with Oracle APEX and Oracle Application Server.
