FGR Coating and Mixing Process Optimization Technician
Join the Team Advancing Print Media Manufacturing
At DNP Imagingcomm America Corporation (DNP IAM), we create premium printing media used around the world. From our Concord, NC operation, we innovate, manufacture, and support products for photo retail and barcode printing. As our Process Optimization Technician for the FGR Coating and Mixing areas, you’ll blend hands-on technical work with rigorous data analysis to keep our lines safe, efficient, and continuously improving.
A Night in the Life
You arrive for your 12-hour night shift and check the latest production and quality dashboards. A runtime blip on a coating line catches your eye; you dig into the failure data, align it with operator notes, and start a quick root cause assessment. By collaborating with the maintenance team, you coordinate targeted troubleshooting to restore uptime. Later, you lead a focused Kaizen on a mixing workflow, capture actions in 5S documentation, and update work instructions so the FGR team can lock in the gains. Before shift-end, you train operators on a new inspection step, verify data entry accuracy, and flag a minor safety improvement you’ll close out in the next audit.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Serve as a process specialist for the FGR Coating and Mixing teams, supporting safe operations and team goals.
- Lead and document 5S, Kaizen, and other continuous improvement efforts; partner with engineers and cross-functional staff on larger machine/process modifications.
- Own equipment troubleshooting; coordinate with maintenance to maximize uptime and reliability.
- Drive process troubleshooting with operating teams to improve quality and runnability, reduce scrap, and increase uptime.
- Analyze machine/process failure data to determine root causes and establish corrective action plans.
- Train teams on new procedures, equipment, and technologies within FGR; write, audit, and update work instructions to reflect best practices.
- Validate the accuracy of team-entered data and improve data collection systems for stronger analysis.
- Address safety and environmental issues; retrain and document as necessary.
