• Estimated Weekly Pay Range: $1660 - $1700

Travel RN Job Details

• Location: Winston Salem, North Carolina (27103)
• Assignment Length: 17 weeks (September 22, 2025 – January 19, 2026)
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts (18:45 – 07:15)
• Hours per Week: 36 (option for 48 hours available)
• Unit: 5 General Orthopedics (Med/Surg Telemetry)
• Patient Ratio: 5-6:1 (may flex up to 7:1 in rare cases)
• Float Requirement: Yes, to other medical-surgical units as needed
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Block Scheduling: Available (F/S/S or S/S/M)

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active NC or Compact Registered Nurse (RN) license (must be in hand by start date)
• Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience, including orthopedic nursing experience (required)
• BCLS (Basic Life Support) and NIHSS certifications (required)
• Epic charting experience (required for first-time travelers)
• IV start and telemetry skills (required)
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
• Ability to float to other med/surg units as needed
• Strong pain management and customer service skills
• Preferred: ACLS certification, charge nurse experience, Level I trauma experience

Travel Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to orthopedic, neuro spine, med-surg, and post-surgical patients
• Monitor and interpret telemetry, initiate IVs, and manage pain for post-surgical and orthopedic patients
• Administer medications, including multiple pain medications as needed
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Epic EMR
• Float to other medical-surgical units within the facility as required
• Participate in block scheduling and work every other weekend
• Deliver excellent customer service and patient-centered care in a fast-paced hospital environment
