Position: Pharmacist (Contract-to-Hire)
Pay rate: $64.27 an hr
Location: Washington, NC 27889 (Onsite)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–6:00 PM + occasional Saturdays (rotating)
Job Summary
We’re hiring an Onsite Pharmacist for a contract-to-hire opportunity in Washington, NC . In this role, you’ll ensure safe and accurate dispensing of medications, provide patient counseling, support clinical best practices, and help supervise pharmacy operations and staff.
Responsibilities
- Accept and dispense prescription medications accurately
- Counsel patients on medication use, side effects, interactions, and proper storage
- Maintain confidential and accurate patient records and pharmacy files
- Monitor patient compliance and identify over-usage patterns
- Ensure pharmacy operations comply with all applicable laws and regulations
- Provide consultation for prescription and OTC medications
- Assist with patient services (as applicable), such as blood pressure checks, cholesterol management, smoking cessation support
- Educate patients on proper use of devices (e.g., glucose meters, BP monitors)
- Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions following proper procedures
- Supervise and support pharmacy staff (technicians/clerks)
- Maintain appropriate inventory of pharmaceutical and medical supplies
- Identify drug-related problems and communicate effectively with providers and care teams
Requirements
- PharmD (Doctor of Pharmacy) required
- Active Pharmacist license (state board of pharmacy) required
- Strong knowledge of pharmacy law, safety, and best practices
- Excellent communication and patient counseling skills
