Night Shift - Shredder Maintenance Technician

Job Title: Shredder Maintenance Technician - Night Shift 7 pm - 7 am
Location: Statesville, NC
Schedule Monday - Friday
Pay: $19/hr

Position Overview
We are looking for a dependable Shredder Maintenance Technician to keep our shredding equipment running smoothly and safely. This role is important for keeping production on schedule and avoiding downtime.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect and maintain shredder parts such as hammers, grates, and liners.

• Perform routine maintenance on hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems.

• Troubleshoot and repair equipment when breakdowns occur.

• Replace worn parts and fix hydraulic leaks.

• Read and follow equipment manuals and diagrams.

• Do basic welding and fabrication for repairs.

• Help install new equipment when needed.

• Follow all safety rules, including lockout/tagout and wearing PPE.

• Keep maintenance records and track parts inventory.

• Report problems and suggest ways to prevent future issues.

• Keep work areas clean and organized.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience in industrial maintenance (shredders or heavy machinery preferred).

• Knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and basic electrical work.

• Able to read diagrams and blueprints.

• Basic welding skills (MIG or stick welding preferred).

• Safety-focused with experience using PPE and lockout/tagout procedures.

• Good problem-solving and communication skills.

Work Environment

• Must be able to stand, walk, lift up to 50 lbs, climb, bend, and reach.

• Work is around heavy machinery, conveyors, and hydraulic systems.

• Some work is outdoors or in noisy industrial areas.
