Quality Control Specialist

Quality Control Inspector

This position is a crucial position to meet quality standards for our customers. The Quality Control Inspector will champion all quality tasks and processes. The QC Inspector will act as the department's representative when working with suppliers, customers, auditors, inspectors, fabrication personnel and packaging/shipping personnel. High level quality issues are escalated to the Operations Manager and Quality Manager for formal resolutions and path forward instructions (i.e. formal rejections and Corrective Actions).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Inspect finished galvanized materials to ensure compliance with company quality standards and customer specifications
• Measure zinc coating thickness using appropriate inspection equipment and gauges
• Perform visual inspections of galvanized coating to identify defects, inconsistencies, or nonconformance
• Maintain proper filing of quality documents, and retrieval of quality documents
• Provide measurement inspection and process capability feedback to the Sales Team during drawing and contract reviews
• Perform QC Receiving Inspections on all production parts and material received
• Perform and record inspection results on all in process QC Inspections for production parts
• Review and sustain a Mfg. Report and Mfg. Order processing to
• Support rate evaluations, efficiency improvements, process improvements, and clear communication and understanding of quality alerts, non-conformances and corrective action
• Continually gain knowledge of materials, manufacturing production processes, gauge selection & usage, Blueprint reading and Excel/Microsoft Office/Inspection Xpert/Word), nonconformance resolution and prevention, and all things Quality.
• Cultivate and maintain good working relations with production employees, suppliers and customers

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment
• Minimum of 1 year of quality assurance experience
• Good time management and proven multi-tasking skills
• Ability to be self-sufficient and self-motivated
• Demonstrates initiative, sense of urgency and is self-motivated when addressing work tasks
• Basic computer skills

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly working near or with moving mechanical parts, wet conditions, hot and cold temperatures, electroplating environment, and outside weather conditions.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to move throughout the facility including on uneven terrain. Employee will operate equipment such as overhead cranes, robots, and forklift as well as position self to inspect equipment and ascend/descend to view equipment. Duties also require moving items up to 50lbs.
