Working Hours: 9 AM – 5 PM EST (Full-time)

Location: Asheville, North Carolina (On-site)

The Senior Investment Analyst | Portfolio Manager role is a vital part of our growing investment team. This individual will work closely with other members of the Investment Committee to analyze data, research investments, and communicate information and processes to our team and clients. This role will also be responsible for all firm trading as directed by the financial advisors. While this is not a client-facing position, the person could field calls about accounts. It is an integral team role involving coordinating and communicating with many coworkers on various teams. A person in this role should love technology and enjoy digging into the latest quarterly updates in the portfolio management system as they occur to ensure best practices and create efficiencies

• Gather and analyze investment data, reporting progress to the team.

• Prepare and follow up on investment committee meetings.

• Analyze U.S. and international fixed income and equity markets.

• Identify new investments through quantitative and qualitative analysis.

• Support financial advisors and research team with ad-hoc requests.

• Conduct investment research for new clients and develop transition plans.

• Create portfolio recommendations aligned with financial planning.

• Assist in investment reviews for upcoming client meetings.

• Manage accounts and models in Orion and Salesforce.

• Optimize Orion usage, improving reports and deliverables

• Lead quarterly investment report distribution to clients.

• Recommend and update insurance sub-account portfolios.

• Support insurance and annuity sub-account reviews.

• Complete compliance tasks (e.g., quarterly MF reviews, SEC filings).

• Monitor portfolio drift at the household and account levels.

• Assist in the monthly client billing process.

• Monitor custodial alerts and manage time-sensitive transactions.

• Execute trades across stocks, bonds, ETFs, mutual funds, SMAs, CDs, and more.

• Support portfolio rebalancing and realignment.

• Set systematic parameters for cash needs and investment transitions.

• Purchase individual bonds as needed.

• Maintain accurate investment model data in Orion.

• Review and approve Trade Blotters.

• Ensure at least one team member is available during trading hours.

• Proactive mindset with strong problem-solving skills.

• Passion for technology in a Windows environment.

• Detail-oriented, process-driven, and self-motivated.

• Team player with a willingness to learn.

• Associate’s degree (required); Bachelor’s degree or higher (preferred).

• CFP® or CFA designation (completed or in progress).

• 5+ years of relevant work experience.

• Experience in financial services or client support with a strong interest in investments.

• CFP® who prefers a non-client-facing role.

• Passion for technology with experience in investments/operations.

• Background in investments or finance seeking a career shift.

• Familiarity with Y-Charts, Orion, eMoney, Morningstar, or similar tools.
