HR M&A Manager
Mergers & Acquisitions Manager Your role and responsibilities
The HR M&A Manager supports the HR workstream for M&A projects from kickoff until integration, in close collaboration with Business HR, HR Services, business M&A and other functions. As part of the central HR M&A team, the HR M&A Manager also contributes to developing HR best practices, tools and processes for all types of M&A transactions and to providing M&A related training for the wider HR community. The HR M&A Manager uses previous experience, in-depth knowledge of processes and policies and business insights to support making strategic decisions. We are looking to recruit a strategic global HR M&A professional with demonstrated subject matter expertise. The work model for the role is: hybrid #LI-hybrid
The preferred location is flexible in Europe and Eastern time zone of US Main responsibilities include:
- Analyze separation/ harmonization/ integration approach, prepare HR risks and cost assessments including mitigation strategies
- Flag (and mitigate where possible) any HR related risks that might compromise the transaction to either business, corporate or HR Services
- Ensure optimal collaboration between the divisions, external consultants, HR Services, local HR, other functions, buyer or seller and the business M&A project team
- Advise on retention / performance grants, key talent approach
- Play a key role as Manager in making strategic decisions (Target Operation Models, HRIS & Payroll setup, employee matters, budget, change management, integration, purchase agreements, due diligence ...), keeping the best interest of ABB and the acquired / divested unit in mind
- Advise HRBPs about what to expect, the stakeholders, the M&A process and priorities
- Support the creation of workplans & timelines, setup of project related processes and resources, verify separation/integration budget requirements
- Deep dive into all HR related topics to help deliver the projects, including but not confined to: labor law, benefits, compensation, HR governance, HRIS, payroll, pensions, culture, communication, GDPR, talent acquisition and people development
- Developing best in class HR M&A processes, training materials and a tool/process database which can used during projects
- Partner with consultancy firms to enable quick and successful deployment within the M&A projects
- Monitor trends and evolutions in HR M&A, taking lead on one or more specific improvement projects
- HR generalist with strong experience with M&A either as HRBP, Manager or project manager
- Solid understanding of HR processes/policies and how they need to be managed throughout M&A projects
- Excellent project management skills, promoting a structured but flexible approach
- Ability to manage a variety of stakeholders in a complex global environment
- Convincing communication, relationship building and influencing skills
- Business acumen and a passion for M&A
- Ability to manage complex projects, with high levels of uncertainty
- Pragmatic problem solver, keeping short and long term impact of decisions in mind
- Advanced knowledge of English, Excel, Powerpoint and Sharepoint/Teams
- Flexible to work in different time zones
