ICU RN Job Details

• Location: Pinehurst, NC 28374 (North Carolina healthcare job)
• Setting: Cardiovascular Thoracic ICU (CVT ICU)
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (8/25/2025 – 11/24/2025)
• Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), 36 hours per week
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1980–$2030
• Patient Population: Adult cardiac critical care, daily census of 16
• Weekend Coverage: Required (16 weekend shifts per contract)
• Orientation: 12 hours, plus pre-start modules

ICU Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (pending NC RN license accepted)
• Minimum 1 year of recent cardiac critical care or CVICU experience
• Experience with fresh open heart patients required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS (American Heart Association preferred)
• Proficiency with Epic electronic health record (EHR) system
• Must not reside in Moore County, NC
• Ability to float to other critical care units as needed

ICU RN Responsibilities

• Deliver expert nursing care to post-cardiac surgery and vascular surgery patients (CABG, MVR, AVR, TVAR, AAA repair, CEA)
• Operate and manage advanced cardiac equipment (Flo-Trac, Hemospheres, arterial lines, LVAD/RVAD)
• Assist with procedures: chest tube insertion/removal, arterial line management, sheath removal
• Interpret ABGs and dysrhythmias, titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips, manage ventilated patients
• Administer blood products, continuous IV sedation, and procedural sedation
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including physical therapy, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
• Maintain infection prevention standards and adhere to isolation precautions
• Accurately document patient care using Epic EHR
