Tax Preparer – Asheville, NC
$25–$35/hour | Health + 401K | On-site
Our client is a long-established provider of accounting, payroll, and tax services with a 27+ year track record of excellence. Voted among the Best of Western North Carolina, their tight-knit team delivers high-touch support to small businesses and individuals across the region. As tax season approaches, they’re adding an experienced Tax Preparer to their Asheville office.
What You’ll Do:
Prepare individual (1040) and business (1120, 1120S, 1065, 1041, 990) tax returns
Review financial documents for accuracy and compliance
Identify potential deductions, credits, and strategies for clients
Conduct client interviews and respond to tax-related inquiries
Handle IRS/state correspondence as needed
Maintain confidentiality and organized client files
Collaborate with accounting team members and manage time efficiently through tax season
What You Bring:
2+ years of experience preparing individual and business returns
Knowledge of federal and state tax regulations
High attention to detail and ability to thrive under deadlines
Strong communication and client service skills
Preferred:
Active PTIN required
EA or CPA certification preferred (or currently working toward one)
Experience in public accounting or multi-client environments
Familiarity with QuickBooks or similar software
