Opportunity:

Job Details:

• Work three 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend schedule required
• Holiday coverage as needed
• Patient ratio of 6:1 on days, nights, and weekends
• Float required when census is down across all facilities
• First time travelers accepted
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Must pass mandatory EKG exam during onboarding (2 attempts allowed)
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• EPIC charting system experience required
• 48-hour orientation period
• Care for observation patients, respiratory conditions, general medical/surgical diagnoses, palliative/end of life/hospice patients, psychiatric observation, diabetes patients, and surgical patients
• Skills include telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, IV management, wound care, feeding tube care, colostomy management, blood product administration, and various medical equipment management
• Zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences
• Compliance deadline of 12 noon EST the Wednesday prior to start date
• Local radius restriction of 50 miles

This healthcare organization operates a comprehensive medical facility featuring a 30-bed medical surgical telemetry unit with a daily census of 16 patients. The facility provides extensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretaries. The organization maintains high standards for patient care and requires all nursing staff to demonstrate competency in EKG interpretation regardless of specialty area.
