International Logistics Operations Specialist

- Superuser and Planner of daily booking management via TMS (Transportation Management System) with ocean carriers, freight forwarders, and NVOCC.
- Create and maintain standard work and standard operating procedures that support the Booking Management Strategy of International Operations.
- Secure advance bookings and tender shipments to appointed carriers in compliance with the global routing guide
- Build and maintain a logistics route program to establish sailing schedules for all carriers and regions
- Connect daily with internal customers, external suppliers and global freight forwarders throughout Asia Pacific, Europe, the Middle East, and the Americas.
- Track and trace international shipments and manage exceptions to ensure timely delivery.
- Use visibility tools to help manage exceptions and monitor on-time booking requests, confirmations, and delivery.
- Meet or exceed established KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) and have the ability to drive critical timelines to completion
- Liaise with internal departments across business units on issues related to international logistics.
- Perform other duties associated with international logistics as required while maintaining a customer-focused approach.
- Support the tactical execution of the International Logistics Operations Strategic Roadmap with a focus on optimization and improvement of cost, quality, and delivery.
- Support centralized management for international logistics operations, partnering with both internal and external parties including internal procurement, site materials teams, internal trade compliance, external brokers, NVOCCs, carriers, and freight alliances.
- Support visibility solutions that enable stakeholders to seamlessly access and share data regarding logistics costs, transit times, and real-time market conditions.
- Leverage cross-functional collaboration with procurement, trade compliance, and freight pay & audit teammates to establish a clear definition of normal and abnormal conditions with KPIs in international operations. Assist with root cause analysis and resolution of abnormalities (e.g. rolled bookings, bookings rejections/cancellations, blank sailings, etc.)
- In partnership with Procurement, track market conditions and provide alternative solutions to improve cost and service based on evolving market conditions
- Manage transit & dwell of every point in the process - dwell at the manufacturing point, transit to port, dwell at the port, ocean transit, dwell at the arrival port.
- Partner with Procurement by analyzing total landed cost from pick up to final delivery.
- Support industry best practices by recommending and supporting the implementation of tactical solutions (process and technology) with internal clients and external service providers.
- Partner with trade compliance on related international transaction holds to ensure timely review and resolution without service disruption.
- 7+ years of experience in international logistics operations, including import/ export functions and freight procurement
- Thorough understanding of Incoterms®, ocean booking process, letters of credit, and customs formalities for imports and exports
- Experience in the implementation and operation of web-enabled Transportation Management systems
- Bachelor's degree required
- Global Freight Forwarding experience is a plus
- Strong knowledge of the booking process with ocean carriers (NVOCC), truckers, and drayage companies
- Strong analytical skills for efficient data extraction and comparison
- Ability to influence change effectively across internal and external stakeholders
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills
- The ability to function as a leader, an individual contributor, and in a team environment. Display the ability to shift priorities as required by the logistics organization and its internal customers
- Support performance metrics and evaluate internal and external service providers

- Benefits*:
Salary: $68,800 - $91,200 base salary.
