Foreman - Fine Grade
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee crews performing site work.
- Read and understand project plans and specifications.
- Communicate construction needs --material, equipment, and staffing.
- Inspect work areas throughout construction process to ensure the quality and accuracy of work meets specifications and that crew meets productivity goals.
- Monitor and ensure that crew follows safety policies and procedures.
- Oversee development and cross training of crew.
- Recommend and implement measures to improve production methods and equipment performance to improve efficiency.
- Demonstrate Abernethy Contracting’s core values.
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a fine grade foreman.
- Proficient in dozer, excavator, skid steer, mini excavator, rollers and haul truck.
- Sense of urgency and ability to respond to changing situations.
- Ability to adapt, prioritize and complete projects in a changing construction environment.
- Ability to read drawings, plans, and blueprints and convey this information to others.
- Ability to use technology, including iPad.
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
- Ability to communicate and report effectively.
- Aptitude in math and strong problem-solving abilities.
- Physical condition and stamina as required necessary for the job activities.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Commitment to safe work practices.
- Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed.
- Have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Have the ability to travel within 60-75 miles of greater Charlotte Metro Area.
- Pass a pre-employment background screening.
