ER RN Job Details – Sparta, NC

• Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse (RN) position
• Location: Sparta, North Carolina 28675
• Healthcare Setting: Emergency Department (6 beds, 6 rooms)
• Start Date: August 18, 2025
• End Date: November 17, 2025
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: Nights, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend as needed
• Patient Ratio: 1:6
• Charting System: Epic (Epic EMR experience preferred, not required)
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,680 - $1,730 per week

ER Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – North Carolina or compact state
• Minimum 1 year of recent Emergency Room (ER) nursing experience (2 years preferred)
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS (AHA, ARC, or Military accepted)
• Proficiency in dysrhythmia management, central line care, IV vasopressors, CPAP/BiPAP, ventilator care, isolation precautions, and triage
• Experience caring for all patient populations: infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• All requested time off must be submitted with application
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions allowed)
• COVID-19 vaccine not required
• Strong teamwork and communication skills; ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment
• Local candidates within 30 miles of Sparta, NC are not eligible

ER Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality emergency nursing care to diverse patient populations, including pediatric and geriatric patients
• Perform triage, assessment, and stabilization of critically ill or injured patients
• Administer cardiac and insulin drips, manage central lines, and provide ventilator and tracheostomy care
• Respond to emergency situations, including code blue and rapid response events
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (physical therapy, respiratory therapy, radiology, pharmacy, and more)
• Document patient care using the Epic electronic medical record (EMR) system (training provided if needed)
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, infection control, and isolation protocols
• Participate in orientation and ongoing professional development as an ER RN
