• Unit: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) – 32 beds
• Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse (RN)
• Start Date: October 6, 2025
• End Date: January 3, 2026
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts (7:00pm – 7:00am)
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1570 - $1680
• Weekend Rotation: Every other weekend
• Holiday Coverage: 75% of holidays during contract
• Scrub Color: Navy
• Parking: Free onsite

PCU Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina or compact state
• Minimum 18 months of recent Progressive Care Unit (PCU) RN experience
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Clinical skills in tracheostomy care, cardiac drips, cardiac rhythm interpretation, chest tube management, blood product administration, wound care, and central line management
• Ability to float within region and scope of practice (including Cleveland, Kings Mountain, Lincoln, Central Division)
• Experience with EPIC EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Phillips monitors preferred

PCU RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to PCU patients with diagnoses such as CHF, dysrhythmia, chest pain, stroke, abdominal illnesses, respiratory illness, diabetes, AKI/CKD, ETOH withdrawal, and more
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms; manage cardiac drips and advanced therapies
• Perform wound care, dressing changes, and manage central lines and chest tubes
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team including CNAs, charge nurses, phlebotomy, IV/VAT team, respiratory therapists, hospitalists, and intensivists
• Float to other nursing units or facilities within the region as needed
• Participate in facility and departmental orientation
• Maintain accurate documentation and uphold patient safety standards
