Travel Nursing Job Details

• Assignment Type: Travel RN (Locum Tenens)
• Location: Wilmington, NC 28401 (North Carolina nursing jobs)
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1700 - $1750 per week
• Start Date: September 2, 2025
• End Date: March 3, 2026
• Duration: 26-week contract
• Shift: Night shift, 12-hour shifts (18:45 - 07:15)
• Hours per Week: 36 (option for 48 hours per week)
• Unit: 10S Medicine IV – Med/Surg Telemetry RN
• Patient Ratios: 1:6-7
• Orientation: 24 hours
• Scrubs: Navy
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: Must be able to work holidays

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active RN license in North Carolina or Compact State (required at start)
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg Telemetry nursing experience
• BCLS certification required
• Must pass EKG test for Med/Surg Tele specialty
• Proficient in Heparin and Insulin drips, blood product administration, IV insulin protocols, and wound care
• Experience with Pyxis, EPIC, and SBAR systems preferred
• Ability to float to similar units as needed (typically at least once a week)
• Willingness to serve as part of Storm Team/Hurricane Team during emergencies
• Completion of all required modules and testing prior to start date

Med/Surg Tele RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric Med/Surg Telemetry patients
• Administer and titrate insulin and heparin drips per physician orders
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, manage dysrhythmias, and perform non-invasive airway management
• Deliver wound care, manage peripheral lines, and administer blood products
• Accurately document patient care using EPIC and follow SBAR communication protocols
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including IV, PT, RT, pharmacy, and social services
• Float to similar nursing units as required and adapt to changing patient needs
• Participate in disaster response as assigned (Storm/Hurricane Team)
