Job Title: Maintenance Houseperson
Department: Engineering / Housekeeping
Reports To: Chief Engineer / Hotel Manager
Location: Marriott – Boone, NC
Employment Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Wednesday–Sunday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM (Mondays & Tuesdays Off)
Compensation: Hourly, with time and a half for overtime and holidays

The Maintenance Houseperson plays a key role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment throughout our hotel. This hybrid role supports the engineering, housekeeping, and operations teams , ensuring both preventative and ongoing maintenance tasks are completed efficiently and public areas are kept in pristine condition.

• Clean and maintain public/common areas , including lobbies, hallways, public restrooms, the restaurant, courtyard, and indoor pool

• Perform maintenance and preventative upkeep in guest rooms and shared areas (e.g., filter changes, touch-up painting, minor repairs)

• Operate cleaning equipment such as carpet extractors, tile/grout machines, and power washers

• Clean and maintain the indoor swimming pool (including water testing, basic chemical handling, and pool deck cleanliness)

• Assist with HVAC filter changes and routine equipment checks

• Provide support to housekeeping, laundry, and engineering teams as needed

• Respond quickly to guest and team member service requests with a courteous and helpful attitude

• Ensure a safe environment by following hotel procedures and OSHA guidelines

• Maintenance or housekeeping experience preferred, but not required – we provide training

• Must be able to work Wednesday through Sunday and be available on weekends and holidays

• Reliable transportation is required

• Ability to lift, push, and pull heavy items and to stand, bend, and move for extended periods

• Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team

• Basic communication skills and a strong sense of responsibility
