Travel Nursing Job Details

• Location: Mission Hospital, Asheville, NC 28801
• Healthcare Setting: Emergency Department (Level II Trauma Center)
• Assignment Type: Travel Nursing
• Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 10/20/2025 – End: 1/19/2026)
• Shift: 12 Hour Nights (2:45PM – 3:15AM)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Unit Size: 101 beds
• Patient Ratios: 4:1 (medical), up to 7:1 (ED behavioral holds)
• EMR System: Cerner

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active RN license in North Carolina or compact state (required for ER RN jobs)
• Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience, including at least 1 year in an Emergency Room setting
• Experience in Level II trauma centers, comprehensive stroke centers, or high-volume emergency departments (100,000+ visits/year) preferred
• Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS
• ENPC certification required within 90 days of hire
• Ability to work every other weekend and float within all ED sections
• Strong teamwork, flexibility, and communication skills
• Commitment to positive patient experience and respectful behavior (AIDET)

ER Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency nursing care to diverse patient populations
• Monitor and respond to patient needs in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
• Operate advanced medical equipment (Baxter pumps, GE monitors) and follow unit protocols
• Accurately document patient care using Cerner EMR
• Collaborate with healthcare techs, unit clerks, and multidisciplinary teams
• Coach peers and provide real-time feedback
• Maintain updated patient boards and ensure clear communication throughout each visit
• Follow hospital policies, dress code (navy scrubs), and attendance guidelines
