Microsoft OS Automation SME

Kforce is immediately seeking an experienced Microsoft OS Automation SME in support of our enterprise telecommunications and mass media client based in Charlotte, NC. Roles and Responsibilities include:

• Development of automation actions for Microsoft Windows Operating System (OS) and housed databases and applications (PaaS) service offerings
• Act as the key Subject Matter Expert (SME) resource within our Corporate Infrastructure Technology Enablement (CITE) department to design and develop automations for Windows and Databases instances that deliver on our Agile Sprint outcomes; Including Microsoft Windows Servers Standard & Enterprise editions across 2016, 2019, and 2022 releases (Windows 2025 & Windows Core OS experience also is a plus)
• These automations are used to facilitate the new builds for the server as well as APP and DB provisioning and configurations leveraged by IT Operations teams and end-users alike
• Creating new scripts, programs, or automations using our platform; Participate in the preparation of materials and oral presentations for customers and management
• May be required to work off-shift, weekend, and overtime hours
• Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, or a related field
• 5-6 years of experience in both Windows OS and Database technologies
• 5 years of experience scripting/developing automations in languages such as PowerShell, Json, Ansible (Salt, chef is a suitable substitute), Python, Terraform
• Experience with code version control; GitHub, GitLab, etc.
• Database provisioning and administration knowledge of Microsoft SQL 2016/2019, MySQL 8, and PostgreSQL preferred, along with applications such as Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS), etc.
• Understanding Dev Ops fundamentals; CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes; Jenkins, etc.
• Understanding of Cloud design and infrastructure
• Skilled in troubleshooting methodologies
• Must have excellent written and oral communications, including technical documents, and process documents
