Physician Assistant / Nurse Practitioner
**Job Specific Duties:**
The responsibilities encompass a comprehensive range of outcome-oriented NP services as delineated by the privileges conferred by the Military Treatment Facility (MTF).
This includes but is not limited to:
- Conducting general medical assessments, screenings, and examinations for patients presenting with routine, acute, or chronic conditions across all organ systems. Services include immunization administration, diagnosis, treatment, and patient counseling according to clinical guidelines.
- Technically guiding and instructing interdisciplinary staff, delivering evidence-based educational lectures, and actively engaging in in-service training sessions aimed at staff development.
- Diagnosing and managing common acute conditions, chronic illnesses, or minor trauma in alignment with established protocols, clinical practice guidelines, Nurse Practice Acts, and in consultation with supervising physicians as necessary.
- Advocating for preventive healthcare and health maintenance through interventions such as annual physical examinations and promoting positive health behaviors and self-management strategies via both structured and individualized educational initiatives.
- Facilitating communication and collaboration within a diverse healthcare team to enhance the dissemination of care plans and actions, and to enrich patient and family education while augmenting organizational efficacy. - Identifying situations necessitating patient isolation and ensuring adherence to universal precautions during all patient interactions.
- Participating in staff meetings to contribute to case discussions, engage in continuing education efforts, and drive continuous quality improvement and safety initiatives.
**Work Schedule:** Monday to Friday, with hours scheduled between 7 AM and 4 PM, not exceeding 40 hours per week. No weekend or holiday shifts are required.
**Minimum Qualifications:** -
**Degree/Education:** Master's or doctoral degree in nursing, obtained from a program accredited by a recognized regional or national nursing accreditation body (ACEN or CCNE). -
**Certifications:** The healthcare worker must possess and maintain BLS and ACLS certifications through guidelines established by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
Additionally, certification as a Nurse Practitioner in the relevant specialty area is required, granted by either ANCC, AANP, or an equivalent national nursing certification body in accordance with specialty practice standards (e.g., NBPNP, NCC).
- **Experience:** A minimum of one year working experience as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner, in alignment with the clinical competency requirements outlined in service-specific credentialing standards.
- **Licensure/Registration:** Hold an active, valid, unrestricted nursing license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner, without any limitations or pending disciplinary actions, from any U.S. state, territory, or the District of Columbia. -
**Security:** Must be capable of passing a government background check/security clearance.
