Surgical Technologist
- Ensures that sterile equipment is not brought in contact with unsterile items or surfaces so that asepsis is maintained.
- Observes and reports on patient health changes in order to adapt the care plan as necessary.
- Completes the basic scrub duties and table set-ups for procedures to provide a sterile and prepared environment for surgery.
- Gathers supplies and checks equipment to ensure that the necessary materials are prepared for surgery.
- Verifies health status data for patients with the circulating nurse in order to keep a detailed record of a patient's condition.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education- Required: High School Diploma or equivalent; Graduate of a Surgical Technology accredited through ARC/STSA or equivalent military training with surgical tech experience
Experience- Required: 1 year surgical tech experience
Licensure/Certification/Listing- Required: BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare ProviderCertified Surgical Technologist (CST). Surgical Technologists hired prior to 12/31/2017 will have the certification requirement waived. If the CST credential was held on 12/31/17, credential must be maintained without lapse.
