When you work with us as a Data Engineer, you will be part of the Cisco Commerce Engineering team (Cisco Capital IT) – a highly collaborative Cisco IT Organization passionate about the use of technology & AI to deliver Business Outcomes. This team focuses on enabling a robust end-to-end platform and services to offer different competitive payment solutions to Cisco Customers. Your Impact:
You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data processing platform for Cisco Capital and work closely with the data analysts, engineers, and other partners to ensure unified data availability and accuracy across the organization. This role involves skills in data management and governance adapting to enhance the data systems to improve decision-making. And, at the same time responsible for maintaining multiple data pipelines from different transactional systems while up-scaling them with advanced technology meeting faster data availability needs for multiple Capital teams. The team considers you a go-to person for getting the data insights driven by comprehensive data models and data analytics. Key responsibilities include
- Design & stabilize different transaction data pipelines for Cisco Capital Data Hub with a unified ingestion framework.
- Design and develop multiple data consumption pipelines like canned analytical reporting, self-service reporting, data virtualization models, etc. based on the consumer needs
- Perform technical POCs using different technologies to retrofit data analytics platform seeking at better efficiency and covering all Business use case metrics while defining the canonical data model
- Define and implement AI use cases for data metrics to enable the key insights helping accelerate the Business growth for Capital eg. NLP to SQL AI use case enabling conversational AI agent for data metrics.
- Lead and equip the Data Analytics platform to enable different portals for Cisco Capital like Customer portal, partner portal, etc.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Engineering or Technology with a minimum of 8-12 years of experience in DWH technologies with an understanding of ETL processes and tools.
- Working experience with Data Streaming technologies like Kafka, NodeJs, etc.
- Strong Scripting skills with hands on experience in using Oracle PL/SQL, Python, etc.
- Experience with data virtualization tools as well as enabling different data consumption models
- Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable data pipelines.
- Develop and optimize ETL processes to support data extraction, transformation, and loading.
- Implement data models and database structures to support analytics and reporting.
- Experience with data ingestion tools & technologies and data modeling principles
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with real-time data processing and stream-processing systems.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools and techniques.
- Knowledge of data governance and security practices.
- Demonstrate an understanding of technology and digital frameworks in the context of data integration.
- Understanding the AI framework and technology use in data domain to drive relevant insights using LLMs, (predictive analytics, prescriptive analytics, etc.)
- Experience working in agile teams and delivering solutions using agile methodology. Safe Agilist certification a plus
