Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled API Engineer with strong expertise in API Gateway platforms (Kong preferred), AWS, Node.js, and Python . The ideal candidate will serve as a technical authority in API platform engineering, driving innovation and supporting enterprise adoption of API solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, code, test, debug, and implement scalable API solutions and platform tooling.

• Support and maintain the API gateway platform, including upgrades and enhancements.

• Develop frameworks, applications, and tools to improve developer productivity and streamline the SDLC.

• Build software applications using Node.js and related technologies (JavaScript/TypeScript).

• Write and maintain comprehensive unit tests using modern testing frameworks.

• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitLab, Python, and Shell scripting .

• Collaborate with enterprise development teams to ensure smooth adoption of the API gateway and resolve technical issues.

• Provide technical guidance, troubleshooting, and platform support.

Required Qualifications

• 3 5+ years of software development experience with Node.js (JavaScript or TypeScript).

• Hands-on experience with Python and scripting languages.

• Strong background in unit testing (Jest, Mocha, Chai, or equivalent frameworks).

• Experience deploying applications on public cloud platforms (AWS preferred) .

• Experience developing APIs or microservices (REST experience a plus).

• Proficiency with DevOps tools and practices: GitLab, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) .

• Strong version control experience using Git .

Preferred Qualifications

• API development experience with API Gateway platforms (Kong preferred) .

• AWS certifications and deep knowledge of cloud-based architectures.

• Experience with enterprise-scale API adoption and platform engineering.

Soft Skills

• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

• Ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams.

• Excellent analytical and debugging skills.
