A day in this role

You’ll begin your shift on our 9/80 schedule—every other Friday is yours—by reviewing blueprints and operation sheets for the day’s builds. You’ll set up and run a variety of equipment across the shop floor, from manual mills to multi‑axis CNC systems. Precision matters: you’ll verify dimensions with a wide range of gages and instruments, adjust offsets as needed, and document each step. As work progresses, you may coach less experienced machinists, helping them troubleshoot and execute complex setups.

What you’ll work on

• Complete setups and operate machine tools to produce standard and progressive operations on aerospace-grade parts.
• Run equipment that may include lathes, milling machines, grinders, drill presses, hobs, hones, kummers, burnishers, and balancers.
• Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T callouts, and operation sheets to ensure conformance.
• Use precision measuring instruments to validate features and dimensions; perform adjustments to maintain quality.
• Share best practices and assist junior team members when needed.

Your background

• High school diploma or equivalent (required).
• 2+ years of hands-on shop or manufacturing experience (required); 3–6 years in machining preferred.
• Strong manual milling experience (highly preferred).
• Fluent in shop math; demonstrated ability to read blueprints and follow operation sheets.
• Comfortable using a broad range of precision metrology tools.
• Technical school training (preferred).
