Job Overview:
The Event Sourcing Consultant will support corporate meeting and event venue sourcing, supplier negotiation, and contracting activities. The consultant will manage multiple concurrent assignments, partner with internal stakeholders and external suppliers, use Cvent to conduct venue searches and RFP activities, and help ensure engagements comply with established policies, procedures, and risk requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Participate in low to moderately complex initiatives and identify opportunities for process improvements within sourcing.
• Review and analyze basic or tactical sourcing assignments or challenges requiring research, evaluation, and selection of alternatives related to low-to-medium risk deliverables.
• Present recommendations for resolving low to moderately complex situations and exercise independent judgment while adhering to function policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
• Provide information to client personnel in sourcing.
• Support corporate meeting and event venue sourcing, supplier negotiation, and contracting activities.
• Manage multiple sourcing or contracting assignments simultaneously.
• Use Cvent Supplier Network or equivalent venue-sourcing technology to conduct searches, issue RFPs, evaluate proposals, communicate with suppliers, and document sourcing decisions.
• Ensure compliance with established policies, procedures, and risk requirements.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of sourcing experience or equivalent demonstrated through work, consulting experience, training, military experience, or education.
• Three or more years of professional experience in corporate meeting and event planning, venue sourcing, supplier contracting, hotel sales, catering, or convention services.
• Direct experience reviewing and negotiating meetings, trade shows, and event supplier agreements.
• Working knowledge of hotel and meeting supplier commercial terms, including rates, concessions, cancellation provisions, and attrition.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively in a matrixed, cross-functional environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in financial services or another highly regulated industry.
• Experience with enterprise procurement, contracting, risk, or third-party management processes.
• Demonstrated supplier relationship management experience.
• Experience developing bid comparisons, financial analyses, or supplier recommendations.
• CMP designation or relevant hospitality, event management, sourcing, or contracting certification.
• Experience supporting geographically dispersed stakeholders or enterprise-scale meeting programs.

Pay Range: $43- $45

The specific compensation for this position will be determined by several factors, including the scope, complexity, and location of the role, as well as the cost of labor in the market; the skills, education, training, credentials, and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
